First, we would like say we hope you are doing well in these challenging times. We've missed seeing you and being surrounded by the joy our work has always brought - to you, to us and to all the families we have helped over the years. But with the future still very uncertain and with the need for more critical services like food and shelter at the forefront, we've made the difficult decision to dissolve the organization. It's hard to see a time soon where we will be able to build and distribute bikes and even more difficult to see how we will fund the effort.
We will be donating our remaining funds to Camp Blodgett for their bike fund. If you are not aware of Camp Blodgett, they have been in existence for 100 years and offer the opportunity for kids from Kent and Ottawa counties who might never have the opportunity to attend camp, a chance to experience the great outdoors - including bike riding / learning to ride a bike. Our funds will be used to repair and purchase bikes for the camp. We are excited to be able to help with this effort as their work so closely aligns with our mission of bringing kids and bikes together for all the lifelong good we know it does to be able to ride a bike.
In closing, we want to shout the biggest THANK YOU to each one of you and your family, friends, co-workers, businesses along with our local government and law enforcement communities that have helped make the last 15 years possible. Your contributions of time, talent and treasure have had a meaningful impact on the kids of our community. We encourage you to find a new non-profit passion - there is so much need for all of our talents now. Please share this message with anyone you know that might not get it otherwise.
Blessings to all of you.
Liz, Marcia, Tiffany, Andy, Jim, Bernie, Greg and Peggy
