Welcome to Elves & More, a non-profit organization devoted to bringing hope to children.
Our VISION: Bringing hope to one whole neighborhood of children each year in the West Michigan area.
Our MISSION: Provide bikes and treasure boxes this holiday season to an ENTIRE neighborhood of children living in need. A bike is not only a gift but a first step toward responsibility, transportation to school, the library and sporting events and a physical activity that can last a lifetime. By providing all children in one neighborhood with the same gift a bond is formed and jealousy has no place to grow.
Our VALUES: Serve children regardless of race, creed, color, gender or nationality.
Our STRATEGY: Raise funds to purchase, assemble and deliver high quality bikes and treasure boxes to nearly 1,000 children this holiday season. Our hope is to create bonds within the community to secure dedicated volunteers for funding, assembly and delivery.
Our HISTORY: In 2005, our first year, we delivered 400 bicycles and 100 treasure boxes to the children of the Black Hills neighborhood of Grand Rapids. In 2006, we reached nearly 1,200 children with 900 bikes and 300 treasure boxes in the Baxter neighborhood of Grand Rapids. And in 2007 we helped 2,000 children in the Roosevelt Park neighborhood with 1,600 bicycles and 400 treasure boxes. With the help of many generous people and the GR Police and Fire departments, this will be another amazing year.

HOW YOU CAN HELP: Donate any amount. Each $55 raised will provide a child a bike and a helmet. Volunteer this holiday season to help us assemble bikes and treasure boxes or help us deliver the smiles! SPONSOR OR HOST a fund raising event. SPREAD THE WORD to your family, friends and co-workers. While we have some very generous corporate supporters the bulk of our funding comes one bike at a time from people like you.
